With this Festival, the City brings together various styles of music for three fun-filled days of lyrical pleasure. The Festival is sure to draw thousands of people for a full weekend of fun and relaxation.

The Yucaipa Music and Arts Festival’s appeal as an affordable family event is one of many reasons it is quickly becoming a premier event in the Inland Empire and in Southern California.

This year’s festivities will offer a lineup of classic rock and country themed musical entertainment with a feature performance by rock artists Marcy Playground, Dishwalla, Fuel, and Candlebox. Friday night entertainment will feature performances by Yachty by Nature and country music sensation James Wesley. The Festival will close Sunday evening with the San Bernardino Teen Music Workshop and Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers.

Come immerse yourself in the full experience of the Historic Uptown by visiting local vendors and farmers’ market booths, participating in the “Taste of Our Town,” and cheer on your favorite performer in the Yucaipa’s Got Talent competition. Watch adult tricycle racing, sponsored by the local Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs or be mesmerized by the roaming entertainment. If precious stones and art is your interest, then the Gem and Mineral Show and Artists’ Row is a must see! Once again, the City is partnering with the Woman’s Club, located on Adams and Ave A, to offer a nice cool place to hold the Flower Show.

Don’t forget the kids! There’s plenty for them to do with carnival rides, a kids zone, and a dedicated youth stage. If you’re hungry, no need to leave the event, a wide variety of food vendors will be on hand to satisfy your taste buds. These are just a few of the activities planned for the event, so take a look around and see all that is in store for the 2017 Yucaipa Music and Arts Festival.

Event attendance and parking is free. Tickets and wristbands will be sold for carnival rides and certain event attractions and a beer and wine garden will be available Friday thru Sunday for those over 21 years of age.

For more information on the Music and Arts Festival visit our website at: www.yucaipamusicandarts.org or contact us at (909) 790-7460. Don’t miss the great entertainment and activities in store for you!

HOUSTON OPEN AIR-REVERBNATION BATTLE OF THE BANDS AND ONSITE EXPERIENCES ANNOUNCED

7huu_LogoHOA--2

REVERBNATION ONLINE BATTLE OF THE BANDS AND
ADDITIONAL ONSITE EXPERIENCES ANNOUNCED FOR
SEPTEMBER 24 & 25 FESTIVAL AT NRG PARK IN HOUSTON, TX

THE BIGGEST ROCK EXPERIENCE IN TEXAS
FEATURES OVER 35 BANDS
LED BY AVENGED SEVENFOLD AND ALICE IN CHAINS
PLUS DEFTONES, CHEVELLE, SLAYER AND MANY MORE

More details have been announced for the first-ever Houston Open Air, to be held Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25, 2016 at NRG Park in Houston. Texas’s biggest rock experience will feature performances from over 35 bands, including Avenged Sevenfold, Alice In Chains, Deftones, Chevelle, Slayer and many more.

One lucky unsigned band will have the chance to perform at Houston Open Air through the ReverbNation online battle of the bands. For details, visit:
www.reverbnation.com/submission/details?campaign_id=11001&in_preview_mode=true&show_s1=true&submission_intended_action=create_cpo_submission.

In addition to three stages of top rock bands, Bud Light joins Houston Open Air as the official beer of the festival. Houston Open Air features the celebrated Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 Whiskey Row, and a Texas-sized Gourmet Man Food experience, which will highlight Houston’s emergence as a great American food city, and include the Tacolandia Mexican food village with some of Houston’s top Tex-Mex spots.

Weekend, single-day and VIP tickets for Houston Open Air are on sale now at www.HoustonOpenAir.com.

Here’s a preliminary list of Houston Open Air onsite experiences, including Gourmet Man Food and craft beer, as well as nonprofit organizations with a presence at the festival:

Gourmet Man Food: Gourmet Man Food (“GMF”) has been part of American culture since pioneers started experimenting with their cowboy menus to “kick things up a notch.” Since then, it’s become a phenomenon of artistically created, statement-making food, served in large portions with a powerful presentation. It is a unique twist to foods you know mixed with flavors you don’t expect. Gourmet Man Food is not small portions on sparse plates, it’s not pretentious, not for the faint of heart, not for a day you are counting calories, and, it’s not just for men.

Houston Open Air will feature food from several Houston favorites, with additional vendors from around the country. Along with its general admission and VIP Gourmet Man Food selections, Houston Open Air will also feature a local Tex-Mex showcase at Tacolandia presented by the Houston Press and Tabasco. Visit http://houstonopenair.com/gourmet-man-food/ and http://houstonopenair.com/tacolandia/ for the list of food vendors and menu items.

Bud Light: America, they say we’re a nation divided. They say we disagree on everything, but they’re wrong. We agree on a lot: liberty, justice, ROCK MUSIC, and beer. Nothing brings America together like Bud Light and nothing brings rock fans together like Houston Open Air. That’s why we’ve formed the Bud Light Party – a party for everyone. We are the fake political party America needs right now and we’re stopping by Houston Open Air to supply ice cold beer all weekend long. Because no matter where we stand on the issues, we all sit on the bar stools with our hands raised in the air listening to our favorite rock bands. America has seen the light, and there’s a Bud in front of it.

Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 Whiskey Row: Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 Whiskey Row will feature the following brands: Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel, Tennessee Fire, Tennessee Honey, Woodford Reserve, and Old Forester. The Jack Daniel’s Experience “Taste of Tennessee” invites visitors to come out and tour the nation’s oldest registered distillery from outside the Jack Daniel’s Hollow. Visitors get to see (and smell) whiskey dripping slowly through charcoal and the new oak barrels used in maturing Tennessee’s finest whiskey. The Jack Daniel’s Experience is open to all fans, 21 years old and up, for tours free of charge. Stop by the Jack Daniel’s Experience for interactive engagements throughout the weekend.

Dyin 2 Live / Fxck Cancer: The F C Cancer Foundation’s mission is to fight cancer by raising awareness and to educate about early cancer detection, ultimately putting an end to late stage cancer diagnosis. The Dyin 2 Live wish granting program looks to enrich the lives of those fighting cancer by offering them an experience that will bring joy, hope, inspiration, and courage into their lives. In doing this, the program hopes it can help give the cancer fighter a chance to forget, even if it’s only for a day, what they are battling. The hope is that it can be used as a source of inspiration to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour.

Today, Sharethebus is a growing team of travel experts, developers, and rock stars who are building the best way for you and all your friends to go where you want, when you want, all while having a blast.

As previously announced, a portion of the proceeds from all Houston Open Air tickets sold will benefit the Greater Houston Storm Relief Fund. Tales from the Pit: Judas Priest! Fall to your knees and repent if you please!

JudasPriest_logo1

priest21-1024x682

I have seen Judas Priest multiple times throughout my life, and each time has been more memorable then the last. A couple years ago, when Rob Halford sang with Metallica during the “Golden God Awards”, his health was not the best – he hit the stage with a cane, but he still roared like the Metal God he truly is. This past week, November 10th, was no different…Priest played the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles and showed Los Angeles heavy metal is not only alive and well, but is kicking serious ass! It was my first time seeing their new guitarist, Richie Faulkner play… ever! He fit right into the group. Richie knows how to work a crowd with his winning smile and good looks. He is also a shredder on the guitar; he reminds me a lot of Zakk Wylde in the way he plays solos. Redeemer of Souls is the first record released in six years since releasing the 2008 concept album Nostradamus.  After the departure of founding guitarist K.K. Downing in 2011, this is the first new music Priest has released since Richie joined the band following K.K.’s departure.

On my way to see Priest I was blasting Black Sabbath. Who would have thought the music before they went on stage would be Black Sabbath? I thought that little coincidence was very cool! I missed the opening band Steel Panther. I have seen them a bunch of time as well on the Sunset Strip. They are talented musicians and funny too, but I arrived too late to witness their set. It was about 10 minutes before show time, when I got there and the venue was packed-full of Metalheads of all ages. Priest opened up with a monstrous thundering roar via “Dragonaut” which is also the first track on their new album. There was a back-and-forth of guitar solos between Richie Faulkner and Glenn Tipton that kept the crowd entertained and fist pumping for more. The song that stood out most to me from the new album was “Halls of Valhalla.” When Rob Halford shrieks during this song, it’s a sound we all know and love that stays true to Priest roots! Rob’s voice is better than ever! He looked healthy and his iconic metal wardrobe costume changes were amazing!

The band sounded fantastic and they looked like they were having fun! Glad they played hits like “Turbo Lover,” “Hell Bent for Leather,” “Breaking the Law,” and “Living After Midnight.”  I was also delighted that they played “Beyond the Realms of Death” as it is one of my all-time favorite Priest songs! Overall it was a fantastic show. As great as the new album Redeemer of Souls is, the new material sounds even better live, so I highly recommend you catching a show!

“HEAVEN KNOWS” IS THE SECOND SONG FROM THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM
‘GOING TO HELL,’ OUT IN EARLY 2014 ON RAZOR & TIE

ThePrettyReckless_HeavenKnowsArtwork_LosRes

Taylor Momsen and THE PRETTY RECKLESS have released their first single “Heaven Knows” digitally today, Tuesday, November 19. Taken from the band’s upcoming sophomore album GOING TO HELLout early 2014 on Razor & Tie, the song rocks a powerful rhythmic guitar with a striking refrain thatMomsen delivers dead-on: “Oh no, heaven knows, we belong way down below.”  After premiering on SiriusXM’s Octane, the song arrives at rock radio in early December, with a video premiere to follow in January.

Earlier this Fall the band released the song and video for “Going To Hell” in support of the band’s completed, critically acclaimed, Going To Hell headlining tour in North America. The video, directed by Tim Mattia, had over 1 million YouTube plays in the first week. To purchase the song at iTunes, visit:http://georiot.co/HeavenKnows and to hear it on YouTube, click here: http://youtu.be/JVZe5K3PZig.

See what critics said about THE PRETTY RECKLESS and their Fall North American tour:

Taylor Momsen has transformed into one of the sexiest and most confrontational front women. In spite of the skepticisms, Taylor is the real deal. A bona fide Rock Goddess that can sing her ass off, with more swagger than you can handle and is overwhelmingly sexual” … JAM MAGAZINE

The Pretty Reckless are about to set fire to rock ‘n’ roll. The genre’s been begging for an honest-to-goodness firestarter like Taylor Momsen for years now. The Pretty Reckless in rock ‘n’ roll that taps into true danger…Rock music is about to go up in flames with Going to Hell. It’s easily one of our most anticipated records of 2014.” … ARTISTDIRECT.COM

“…with the release of her band’s second album, Going to Hell, and their current tour, she clearly has her sights set on becoming a bona fide music star.Gentlemen, prepare to get rocked.” … MAXIM

“…her ‘Going to Hell’ tour…it’s exactly as promised. Momsen and her show in San Diego was loud with a hot crowd fired up and ready. Taylor and her band took to the stage to pull a true rock and roll set with grit and energy.” …SAN DIEGO CITY TIMES

The crowd peaked in energy during the band’s current single, ‘Going To Hell.’…Momsen put on quite a show, leaning on the drum riser, shaking her body, and sliding up and down her bandmates.’…GRAMMY.COM
