Return of the Dreads with photo Gallery

Korn-Irvine

On a perfect Sunday for a rock show, Korn and Rob Zombie rolled into Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre on the “Return of the Dreads” tour. This years tour is the follow-up to 2013’s widely successful “Night of the Dreads” tour. The special guest this time around was In This Moment. The packed crowd was lined up the whole length of the parking lot 30 minutes before the gates even opened. In This Moment took the stage at dusk and ripped thru a solid set of 6 songs, complete with costume changes between each song. Lead singer Maria Brink is definitely the focal point of the show. She was flanked by 2 twisted nurses that shadowed her every move. They had props {giant syringes) and minor set changes that added to the well organized opening act.
Rob Zombie and his band, Ginger Fish (drums) Piggy D.(bass) and John 5 (guitar) were next to hit the stage. The crowd was electric as Zombie and his ghouls opened with “Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Supertown”. The stage was lined with Zombies crazy cartoon artwork and large screens showing classic horror movie clips. They played 15 songs including covers of “Wild Thing” and “We’re an American Band”. The encore was “Dragula”. At one point during the song “More Human Than Human” Rob Zombie jumped down into the pit and made his way across the front row of orchestra seats before returning to the stage. The best set I’ve seen from them in years.
Korn came out with a solid wall of  L.E.D. lighting and a large screen behind the drummers platform. “Right Now” was the opener and “Freak on a Leash”  closed the show. Korn played all their classic songs and of course singer Jonathan Davis came out and did “Shoot’s and Ladders” with his bagpipe’s. Towards the end of the set, Korn brought out their kids to jump around during the songs “Got the Life” and “Falling Away from Me”. The vibe of the whole show was exciting and very upbeat. All in all it was a very good show and I hope they do this tour again in another 3 years……

Showcased in a solo performance, the video features 3 minutes and 33 seconds of John 5’s mad skills as he riffs away on his Fender Telecasters. The video single is the fourth in a yearlong series in which he’ll debut a new video on the first day of each month in 2016.

John 5 has had an illustrious career collaborating with chart-topping artists such as k.d. lang, David Lee Roth, and Rod Stewart. He has performed on critically acclaimed world tours with Marilyn Manson, and is currently the guitarist and a co-songwriter for Rob Zombie. He recently released his Greatest Hits Vol. 1.

“All my life I’ve really enjoyed music: making music, playing it, and recording it,” he says. “It’s such a relief and a joy to do what I do for a living. I know it sounds corny, but I think the meaning of life is to do what you love and be happy.”

Rob Zombie will release his sixth solo studio album, The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser, on April 29 via UMe/T-Boy Records.  The Electric Warlockmarks Rob Zombie’s first solo studio album since 2013’s Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor, which debuted at number 7 on the Billboard 200. Produced by Zeuss and recorded at Goathouse studios, this new record is a full return to form by Zombie. The album features John 5 (Guitar), Piggy D (Bass) and Ginger Fish (Drums) with provocative art provided by Alex Horley. To celebrate the release of the album, Zombie has made a direct-to-fan presale available on FuckinginaUFO.com where fans can pre-order the new record and collectible merchandise, as well as purchase exclusive tickets and VIP Meet & Greet bundles for the new tour and a chance to be in The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser movie. Zombie has achieved great solo artist success with several multi-platinum and gold albums. Zombie has sold more than fifteen million albums worldwide, and is the only artist to experience unprecedented success in both music and film as the writer/director of six feature films.
Korn built an immortal bond in 1993 the first time Jonathan Davis, James “Munky” Shaffer, Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, and Brian “Head” Welch decided to make music as a unit. They shed blood, sweat, and tears in the studio and on stage, fashioning an undeniable and unique sound that would permanently alter the course of rock music. After six seminal releases, two Grammy Awards, countless sold out shows, and selling 35 million albums worldwide, Head left the group in 2004 to face the demons of addiction. Korn soldiered on, adding drummer Ray Luzier in 2007 and releasing four more full-length releases. In 2012, a triumphant and tear-filled reunion happened on stage as the group headlined the Carolina Rebellion Festival with Head reprising his legendary part on “Blind”. The initial bond came back into focus, and it was time for their next studio album, The Paradigm Shift, which seamlessly melds the group’s ever-present spirit of innovation with their signature metallic catharsis, paving the way for the future yet again. In 2014, Korn started their 20th anniversary celebrations, playing their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album in its entirety. The shows were so well received, the group continued the festivities into 2015, performing the record on tour to fans around the world. At present, Korn is back in the studio hard at work on their twelfth album set for release in 2016.

ZAKK WYLDE TO RELEASE BOOK OF SHADOWS II

ZAKK WYLDE TO RELEASE BOOK OF SHADOWS II ON APRIL 8, 2016

FIRST SOLO RELEASE IN 20 YEARS

ebcd7b4f-6aba-4426-81e5-862bbb6c82b7

January 14, 2016 — Guitar icon Zakk Wylde will release Book Of Shadows II on April 8th, 2016 via Entertainment One Music (eOne Music), his first solo release in 20 years. This release is the highly anticipated follow up to 1996’s Book of Shadows LP, a classic album Wylde released between his work with Ozzy Osbourne that has since become a fan favorite. Book Of Shadows II was recently named as one of the “Most Anticipated Metal Releases of 2016” via Rollingstone.com.

Wylde has been feverishly working on new material since he wrapped up Black Label Society’s “Unblackened” spring tour last year. All songs on Book of Shadows II were recorded and produced at Wylde’s legendary home studio, The Black Vatican, which produced several of Wylde’s recent releases. The new effort will be followed by a wave of tour dates in support to be announced soon.

Zakk Wylde is no stranger to showing the lighter, introspective side of his music, having previously released two Black Label Society albums of stripped down material. The Song Remains Not the Same was released in 2011 which included acoustic versions of songs originally released on Order of the Black and 2013’s Unblackened, a live acoustic album that was recorded live at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.

Zakk will also be in full participation in this year’s NAMM Convention taking place at The Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA January 21-24. Zakk’s newly minted line of Guitars known as Wylde Audio will be on full display in Room 210-D and will be signing from 3pm – 5pm on Friday Jan 22. ZAKK SABBATH, a side project featuring guitarist/vocalist Wylde, bassist Blasko (OZZY OSBOURNE, ROB ZOMBIE) and drummer Joey Castillo (DANZIG, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) performing only BLACK SABBATH SONGS will be playing at The Grove of Anaheim Saturday January 23rd.
