This past Tuesday, May 17, internationally renowned heavy rock band LAMB OF GOD were awarded RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) gold certification plaques for their breakout 2004 Epic Records release, Ashes Of The Wake. The album was certified gold this past February for sales in excess of 500,000. The plaques were presented by Epic Records Senior Vice President of Marketing Scott Carter to the entire band at the Paramount in Huntington, NY just prior to the band’s sold out performance.
Good Day New York/Fox 5 was present for the award presentation and captured the career-defining moment first-hand. Tomorrow morning (May 20) on Good Day New York between 6:30-7:00 and 8:30-9:00am (in the New York City broadcast area), you can watch LAMB OF GODreceive their plaques and catch an in-depth interview with vocalist Randy Blythe and bassist John Campbell, hosted by anchor Juliet Huddy. The segment will air during the entertainment portion of the broadcast, and if you’re not in New York, you can watch a re-cap of the segment online atwww.Fox5NY.com in the days following the broadcast.
Guitarist Mark Morton offers his thoughts on the RIAA certification: “Wow, a gold record in the US! These types of milestones always leave me astounded. When we started this band in a little Richmond, VA basement, we honestly never even dreamed that we would tour all over the world, see so many places and reach so many people with our music. I remain amazed and humbled when I think about the experiences and opportunities I’ve had the chance to be a part of over the course of our career. It is nothing short of an honor to know that our words and music have touched so many people’s lives. Thank You to the LAMB OF GOD fans… each and every one of you. While this achievement is very special to us, even more cherished is the opportunity to have an outlet for our music and a loyal fan base all over the world that makes us feel at home everywhere we go. Thank you!”

About LAMB OF GOD:
Richmond, VA natives LAMB OF GOD originally formed in 1994 as Burn The Priest while in college together at Virginia Commonwealth University, initially performing in meagre venues and hocking rough demos amongst the local scene. In 1998, the band changed their moniker to LAMB OF GOD, which would mark their impending ascension to top-tier status, as well as one of the only tangible career deviations that the band would ever undertake – having consistently released chart-topper after chart-topper while maintaining a true and constant line-up of members and increasingly growing fanbase; a rarity in modern music. The band’s first major release, 2000’s New American Gospel, was immediately touted as an instant metal classic. AllMusic stated it best, “The essential signatures of post-Pantera metal are in abundance on Lamb of God’s inaugural album. New American Gospel provides a mighty oak upon which gritty American metal’s faith is maintained, effectively bridging the ’90s’ insistence upon drill-sergeant technicality and the old school’s determined focus on riff construction.”
In 2007, just a short time after putting out monumentally successful releases As The Palaces Burn(Album, 2003, #64 of 200 debut), Ashes of the Wake (Album, 2004, #27 of 200 debut, RIAA Gold), Killadelphia (DVD, 2004, RIAA Platinum), and Sacrament (Album, 2006, #8 of 200 debut), LAMB OF GOD was honored with a Grammy nomination for the track “Redneck”. This would mark the first of four Grammy nominations for the band. After the release of Walk With Me In Hell (DVD, 2008), the second and third Grammy nominations came in 2010 and 2011 for tracks “Set to Fail” and “In Your Words”, both cut from Wrath (CD, 2009, #2 of 200 debut). The fourth nomination arrived for the band’s track “Ghost Walking”, cut from their 2012 album Resolution (CD, #3 of 200 debut). With the release of VII: Sturm Und Drang, the five-piece have proven their lasting consistency by offering another blistering contribution of the highest quality heavy metal – a record that no one other than LAMB OF GOD could truly execute.
Having amassed the globe with countless world tours and millions of albums sold, all-the-while overcoming countless hurdles ranging from personal demons to vocalist Randy Blythe’s 2013 trial in Prague (which resulted in the acclaimed 2014 full-length feature documentary, As The Palaces Burn, and book, Dark Days: A Memoir, authored by the frontman and released in July 2015), LAMB OF GOD stands the test of time as the biggest, most influential heavy metal band of the new millennium.
LAMB OF GOD is Randy Blythe (vocals), Mark Morton (guitar), Willie Adler (guitar), John Campbell (bass), and Chris Adler (drums).

In 2007, just a short time after putting out monumentally successful releases Ashes of the Wake (Album, 2004, #27 of 200 debut), Killadelphia (DVD, 2004, RIAA Platinum), and Sacrament (Album, 2006, #8 of 200 debut), LAMB OF GOD was honored with a Grammy nomination for the track “Redneck”. Now, on the cusp of releasing their seventh full-length album VII: Sturm Und Drang, the five-piece is poised to prove their lasting consistency by offering another blistering contribution of the highest quality heavy metal – a record that no one other than LAMB OF GOD could truly execute.

Having amassed the globe with countless world tours and millions of albums sold, all-the-while overcoming countless hurdles ranging from personal demons to vocalist Randy Blythe’s 2013 trial in Prague (which resulted in the acclaimed 2014 full-length feature documentary, As The Palaces Burn, and upcoming book, Dark Days: A Memoir, authored by the frontman and releasing in July), LAMB OF GOD stands the test of time as the biggest, most influential heavy metal band of the new millennium.

EX-Misfit guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein breaks new ground with His first Solo Record as “DOYLE”Released on Doyle’s own label, Monsterman Records, Abominator is a sonically thick and lyrically evil slab of horrorpunk tinged metal that finds Doyle expanding in a logical progression upon the genre of music he helped create. Doyle’s first band, the infamous Glenn Danzig-fronted Misfits, helped create the genre of speed/thrash metal with their last album, 1983’s “Earth AD/Wolf’s Blood”- in fact the record has been revered as one of the blueprints for the genre by many of its most respected players, as evidenced by countless groups covering the album’s songs, not the least of which being Metallica. Abominator is not the sound of some punk guitarist gone metal- it’s the roaring return of one of extreme metal’s original architects to his bloodsplattered drawing board.Recording both guitar and bass tracks for the album, the unmistakable sound of Doyle’s signature Annihilator guitar cuts through on every tune, starting with the snarling opening title track “Abominator” fans of the Misfits will recognize it right away. But the guitar tracks rip through the record with much heavier metallic force than his previous bands’s recordings – in short it’s the sound he’s been trying to capture all along, and it’s positively malevolent.! While the horror punk vibe of The Misfits does permeate the album (as it should), the guitar work on Abominator is more technical (and far meatier) than your average punk rock record. ! With guitar, bass, and drums laid down (live show bass duty is handled by fellow Jersey native, “Left Hand” Graham), the vocals for Abominator claw their way out of an unlikely locale- the American Deep South. Coming from a legendary band of almost mythological proportions, and having first worked with one of punk and metal’s most talented and respected vocalists (the infamous
Glenn Danzig), Doyle’s new project would need a singer with brass balls, cast-iron pipes, a suitably twisted mind, and his own vocal delivery style. Enter Alabama’s Alex Story of Cancerslug, a Southern fiend who more than meets all of the afore-mentioned qualifications. His sand-blasted scream opens the record, and the evil doesn’t relent until the ending growl of “Hope Hell Is Warm”, the album’s defiant closer. The man can scream and sing, and employs both styles to great effect, switching seamlessly from raw-throated roars to rough-edged, yet melodic, horror punk-style clean vocals. With the release of Abominator, Doyle and company are set to hit the road and bring the monster to life on stages far and wide. Anyone who has seen Doyle play classic Misfits songs on tour with Danzig over the last few years already knows what an imposing stage presence he has- in truth, imposing isn’t a strong enough word to describe this behemoth of a man. He’s actually pretty damn terrifying, and the horror- punk aesthetic he helped create has been maintained through the years, from the skull white face and wicked devil lock to his massive bloody hands- that’s real blood, by the way. Watching Doyle hammer such heavy tones out of a guitar, one wonders how the damn thing is going to make it through just one song, much less an entire set. With an absolutely vicious new album of songs, a wild-eyed wolf- man of a singer, a ghoulish jackhammer on the drums, a road-tested bassist, and a really loud blood-soaked guitar rig, Doyle will be destroying a venue near you soon. “It’s time to hit the road for real and take this as far as it will go. We’re fucking ready” he says. And what can fans expect at a Doyle show?To get fucking pummeled, man. And then go home and ask themselves ‘What the fuck just happened to me?!?”…! !
Loud, aggressive, and technically proficient, Doyle and crew are set to show the world how true horror metal sounds today.

So crank up Abominator until your speakers blow, check out Doyle on tour soon, and let the beatings begin. Hail horror!

LAMB OF GOD Partners with Specticast for Worldwide Distribution of “As The Palaces Burn” Feature Film

LAMB OF GOD is pleased to announce that they have entered in to a worldwide distribution deal with Specticast (Led Zeppelin Celebration Day, Paul McCartney Rock Show) for their Don Argott (Last Days Here, Art of the Steal, School of Rock) directed feature film “As The Palaces Burn”. Filming for the feature began in 2012 and concluded in March of 2013.

“As The Palaces Burn”, not to be confused with the making-of documentary packaged with the recent re-release of the 2003 LAMB OF GOD album of the same name, was conceived to be a documentary focused on the power of music and its impact on cultures around the world and its ability to bring together people of all nationalities regardless of religious or political differences. After a worldwide casting call, filming took place in Colombia, Venezuela, Israel, India, and the United States. As filming reached its conclusion, the documentary was forced to take a major turn when the band’s lead singer, Randy Blythe, was arrested in the Czech Republic and charged with the murder of a fan in June 2012. Granted unique access to Blythe’s continuing saga, Argott’s filming covered Blythe’s 38 day imprisonment in Prague, his release and the band’s return to live performances, and finally Blythe’s trial for murder in Prague in February 2013.

“As The Palaces Burn” will debut worldwide on February 27th. Following the film, a 30 minute Q&A with the entire band and director Don Argott will be shown. The Q&A was conducted by VH1 Classics Eddie Trunk and filmed at the final show of the band’s North American tour in support of their most recent release, Resolution.

The trailer for the film can be found at www.asthepalacesburn.com.

Lamb of God tour kickoff in Canada

LAMB OF GOD, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, TESTAMENT, HUNTRESS!
Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Testament and Huntress are touring together and they’re kicking it off right here in Toronto at Kool Haus. This is Lamb of God’s last national “Resolution” tour so it could be your last chance until their next album.
Randy Blythe has nothing to prove to his fans but he made a plea to the moshers and bodysurfers to take care of anyone who falls. He has nothing to prove to Canadians but he honoured us by waving the Maple Leaf around with thanks and respect for being the first and only country to give the band 2 gold records. He also had nothing to prove to Toronto as this historic tour blasts off here, but when he asked how many came the sold out Kool Haus from out of town, the cheer was twice as loud as the locals.
This five hour show left ears bleeding and eyes melted. Huntress had no time to consume her prey. Her wailing shreeks and kick ass band left a molten mass of flesh on the floor. Testament answered with ferocious prayers for the full house. Thrashing beats and shredding solos at every turn of the page. Killswitch Engage left the masses moshing and chanting to End Of The Heartache. Their stage presence was wild at heart, slick and tight. Lamb of God was exquisite. Their sound – immaculate; Visuals – hypnotic. Messages of anti-fear, hate, power, abuse and ruin. Anti-war movies and memorials for fallen soldiers.
Slash said, “Lamb of God is not a household name…but they’re one of the biggest heavy metal bands around” in Lamb of God’s trailer for the new documentary: As The Palaces Burn.
Even though Randy Blythe was acquitted of the manslaughter charges in Prague, the situation was emotionally and financially bankrupting. The bands are doing this for the lowest possible cost, so get up and go horns high! Please Stage Dive and Mosh responsibly!

LAMB OF GOD Responds to Malaysia Concert Ban

 lamb of god

As widely reported, LAMB OF GOD’s concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia scheduled for September 28th has been cancelled by the government, who refused to issue a permit for the show even though the concert had been on sale and had sold over 1,500 tickets.

LAMB OF GOD’s guitarist Mark Morton has issued the following statement regarding the decision by the Malaysian government. Shows scheduled in New Zealand, Australia, and Thailand will still be performed by the group:

“It is very evident (and a bit frustrating) that the groups, parties and powers that have taken the most offense to our music and lyrics, have themselves only made a passing glance at the content and meanings of those songs. We would invite anyone offended by our music to engage in a discussion regarding the true motivations behind our work, especially before publicly slandering us based on assumptions and shallow misinterpretation.

We sincerely apologize to our amazing fans in Malaysia for the cancellation. Many thanks to all who have spoken out in support of us through this.”
