LOS ANGELES, CA – October 16, 2017 – Run to the Hills as Rovio Entertainment, the creators of the international phenomenon Angry Birds pays tribute to heavy metal legends, Iron Maiden, with an epic Halloween collaboration in Angry Birds Evolution.

As one of the most recognizable figures in the world of metal, Eddie, the iconic mascot of Iron Maiden, will be a special playable character as “Eddie The Bird” in Angry Birds Evolution this Halloween season.

“Our team is filled with massive Iron Maiden fans and Eddie was both our first choice & a natural fit in Angry Birds Evolution,” said Miika Tams, VP Games and Product Lead for Angry Birds Evolution, “It’s about time his status as a true rock icon was celebrated and we know that fans will love seeing Eddie The Bird raise hell on Bird Island!”

Players can crank up their Angry Birds Evolution team on October 18 during a special two-week character event for the most metal Halloween ever! Players who successfully recruit Eddie The Bird to their team during that time will be able to keep him forever.

“When you get a call from Rovio, one of the biggest entertainment companies in the world confessing that they are Maiden fans and want to celebrate Halloween with Eddie you just have to take notice. They have outdone themselves with this incredible tribute to Maiden and the opportunity to share the band’s music with their millions of players around the world. I really can’t wait to play him and skittle those pigs!” Llexi Leon, Interactive Creative Director at Phantom Music Management.

To celebrate Eddie The Bird’s arrival in a big way, there will be four evolutions of the character to represent different albums from Iron Maiden’s storied history. In addition, the Bird Island will be transformed into a Halloween themed heavy metal oasis with a land full of hair-raising and loving tributes to Eddie, Iron Maiden and the heavy metal universe.

Rovio is also planning to offer fans some exclusive ‘Eddie The Bird’ merchandise, made available for a limited time during this unique event.

Finally, look out for ‘Eddie The Bird’ migrating to Iron Maiden’s own ‘Iron Maiden: Legacy Of The Beast’ mobile RPG in 2018.

Iron Maiden, Ghost, Kamelot and Exodus take over San Bernardino

WE ARE ALL Blood Brothers!

kamelot_rnrindustries-1It was a hot day in San Bernardino Saturday but that didn’t stop the crowd from coming out and Moshing! When Exodus hit the stage the pits started and never slowed down tell Iron Maiden was done playing their final encore! When you go to an Iron Maiden show they remind you that age is just a number from the 25,000+ fans that were in attendance that consisted of long time fans in their senior years to young kids, I saw one young man attending the show with his dad who was no more then 5 but had hair down to his waist and his denim vest full of patches eager to watch the show! Not to mention the guys that are in the band who run around like they are still in their 20’s for the entire show!

But what makes an Iron Maiden show so special is the message that they give to their fans, when so many bands are using music to push their political beliefs (where not going to name any names!) Bruce introduced ‘Blood Brothers’ by pointing out all the flags in the audience and how we come from all over the world and all walks of life and that we are there for one thing to Enjoy Music Together! That it doesn’t matter who we love-whether it’s a man or a women, what religion we practice- even if you worship Darth Vader, that we all came there together, alive and that we were going to leave there the same way! To look out for one another (especially in the pit) that we are all there to have a great time, drink some beers and listen to our favorite music! So grab your flag and wave it proudly especially if that flag happens to be an Iron Maiden Flag!

‘Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast’ Mobile RPG Game Launches Today!

Metal legend’s mobile RPG game available in iOS and Android stores now!

LOS ANGELES, CA – July 5th, 2016 – The wait is over! Metal and RPG gaming fans can now download Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast, the action-packed, free-to-play mobile game where players take on the role of the band’s iconic mascot, Eddie. Available from today for iOS and Android devices, the teams at Nodding Frog, 50cc Games and Roadhouse Interactive have created a new and unique gaming experience in close collaboration with the band and its management team, Phantom Music Management.

The game is set in a visually stunning universe, comprised of an ever-expanding series of worlds derived from Iron Maiden’s music and art. Fans of the band and RPG gamers alike will battle and strategize as Eddie and his allies. Inspired by themes from the songs, and set against a powerful and atmospheric Maiden soundtrack, players will journey on epic quests to reclaim the shards of Eddie’s shattered soul as he faces his most challenging adversaries.

James Hursthouse, CEO of Roadhouse Interactive comments, “As a lifelong Maiden fan, I am exceptionally proud of Legacy of the Beast and excited to launch it globally. It has been a privilege to work so closely with Maiden and their management. With this game I believe that we have created an outstanding, authentic RPG experience to appeal to all mobile gamers, including those discovering the band for the first time.”

Steve Harris, Bassist and founder member of Iron Maiden comments, “We’ve always wanted to make a quality Maiden mobile game as we think the combination of Eddie and the music is so well suited – and it’s a great way to get our music out to a new audience! When the opportunity arose to make a mobile game which our fans, along with hopefully a lot of the gaming community, can play pretty well anywhere in the world, and download for free at that, we jumped at it. The whole band visited Roadhouse while touring through Vancouver back in April and we were so impressed by the creativity, enthusiasm and passion of the team there. Visually, the worlds and character designs do us proud and the music just ties it all together.”

Llexi Leon, Interactive Director of Phantom Music Management adds, “Eddie is constantly evolving; he’s a globally recognizable character that resonates with fans of all ages, and has taken on a life of his own beyond the album covers where he first appeared. This game gives players a chance to step into Eddie’s world and experience an odyssey across space and time. In this incredible RPG adventure, we’re able to explore the origins of Eddie’s power and test the limit of his abilities, bringing new mechanics to the mobile RPG genre, and creating a truly unique gaming experience for everyone to enjoy.”

In Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast, players control Eddie’s destiny across a spectacularly diverse array of worlds by traveling through time in captivating 3D environments. Eddie appears in many forms, each a part of Iron Maiden’s rich history, and each with a set of special powers and abilities.

Players will amass an army of powerful allies to battle alongside Eddie and face the onslaught of foes hell-bent on destroying him. Legions of unrelenting enemies are commanded by the Agents of Control, including The Beast, The Wicker Man, Horus and The Axis General, all drawn from the expansive catalog of Maiden’s albums and artwork.

The game offers over 40 different Talisman sets to choose from, which all add to characters’ vital abilities. With each battle, players will evolve their armies, take on ever-increasing challenges to reclaim the facets of Eddie’s soul, and ultimately defeat the Agents of Control.

Gameplay is enhanced by a blistering soundtrack that features songs spanning the band’s entire career. Players will hear rare, previously unheard live recordings of Iron Maiden classics adapted for the game under the close scrutiny of bassist and founding member Steve Harris.

The game is now available for free on Apple’s App Store and Google Play. For more information about Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast, please visit

Tales from the Pit! The Night I Almost “Died with my Boots on” Iron Maiden at Battle of San Bernardino

“If you are gonna die, die with your boots on!” Those words played over and over again as I was toppled, crushed, and sweated on by hundreds of soaking wet metalheads in the pit of Iron Maiden! Let me tell you, it was ugly. As usual, people seemed shocked to see me entering the pit along side dudes twice the size of my petite, 5ft 2-inch frame.  Well, not only do I fearlessly DIE for metal, but I also thought my two burly fellow metal head friends would take care of me. I was wearing shorts and a pair of sturdy black boots so if I got in trouble, my feet would be safe, and I could kick my way out. Yeah right! After Megadeth’s performance, my friend asked me to go right in the middle of the pit for Iron Maiden. I thought, “Okay, as long as you protect me.” Of course he said “yes,” but how could one protect anyone in a pit of wild, untamed beasts! It was an experience I will never forget, and one I will never experience again. It was the worst pit I have ever been in.  I truly thought I was gong to loose my life, but not without my boots! At 9:05pm, when I heard UFO”S Doctor, Doctor, Iron Maiden’s prelude that lets you know they are about to tear up the stage, I knew there was a possibility I might be needing one! The pit started swaying back in fourth, and I could feel metalheads stomping on my feet. I almost went under during “MoonChild” and “Can I play with Madness.” I did get really close to the front. I was one person back from the barricade and Bruce Dickenson was right in front of me. I was so close I could have reached out and touched him, but I didn’t because I was holding on for dear life! Iron Maiden at the Battle of San Bernardino

My Maiden week started with the Iron Maiden fan club pre-party on Wednesday night with the best Maiden tribute I know that hails from Vegas, Aces High and then seeing the “real deal” on Thursday night in Las Vegas. This was the first time Maiden has played here in 13 years. The show was sold out thanks to fans from all over the planet to a tune of about 10,000+ people. It was an amazing show with a killer set list. Then I went on to Cali on Friday night to see the Battle of San Bernardino festival with 7 bands in the searing heat. I made it to see Anthrax, Megadeth and of course Iron Maiden. I have been shooting shows professionally for eight years and Maiden has been “The” band on the top of my “bucket list”. I was finally able to get a photo pass through Rock n Roll Industries (Thanks Jess!!) and all of ten people were escorted into the photo pit for the three most intense songs I have ever shot!!! They started with “Can I play with Madness”, “Moonchild” and then last for us lucky few in the photo pit, “Prisoner.” It was the most insanely exciting show I have ever shot. If you can keep up with Bruce Dickenson as he jumps about from left to right, you can shoot anyone!! The guy is like a kid up there! Maiden is one of the hardest working metal bands in the world with some of the most die-hard fans out there. I spent the rest of the show out in the pit rocking out and having the time of my life!! Thank you to Iron Maiden for the challenge and the honor of shooting the show!!!

For More photos and the Full review check out the coverage in issue 10.
