Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare is surely hosting a wide range of world class acts for this 2013 season. On Sunday October 20th 2013, the crowds gathered to watch one more high-voltage spectacle. Metalachi  and Lucha Libre sure stirred up the  mixed chants, “cheers” and “boohs” in both Spanish and English as Metalachi performed those well-known classic rock and metal anthems with mariachi instruments. Offering 2 sets for the crowd’s listening pleasure,  again these “Vatos Locos” made the fans laugh with their jokes, sometimes at each other’s expense. RNRIM always keeps an eye on these rockin’ mariachis, we’ll see where the “Loco Train” takes them on their next tour. Continue reading

Rob Zombies “Great American Nightmare” Opening weekend of Terror!

October 10, 2013 launched the red carpet event for Rob Zombies “Great American Nightmare” (GAN) event that will take place every Thursday through Sunday till November 2nd ending with a live performance by Rob Zombie! Each night there will be a different musical act bringing diversity and horror all in one spot! In addition to headlining acts, Rob Zombie has blessed us with 3 insane mazes that will terrify the living day lights out of you! The three attractions are based on Zombies own horror films: “Lords of Salem In Total Black Out, “The Haunted World of El Superbeasto 3D” and “Haunt of 1,000 Corpses.” This is not for the faint of heart!

Opening night was awesome! Tons of celebrities and bands hanging out and enjoying the free beer and cupcakes! Two delicious treats that goes marvelous together! One of the photographers from RNR and I were having a blasting running around offering cupcakes to bands like Vampires Everywhere, Thrown into Exile and stranger then strange, Ron Jeremy! The crowd was having fun and there were many scary and random creatures to look at! The props were cool and realistic looking. Down the Bloody Boulevard you can find delectable food venders cooking up fresh chicken kabobs and pop corn and of course serving beer, liquor and more beer! They had a special section full of cool venders selling clothes and Rob Zombie novelties. One of the coolest venders (sponsors) of them all was this super sick Magazine called Rock N Roll Industries. I highly recommend you checking them out! HAHAHA! In all seriousness, we do have a cool set up at GAN where if you stop by, you can enter a chance to win a Walking Dead signed guitar and a John 5 signed coffin case. Celebrities were stopping by and taking photos in our booth including Andy Gould, Tommy Lee from Motly Crue, members of Attika 7 and Sons of Anarchy.

After making my rounds around the FearPlex aka FairPlex, it was time to check out the mazes. I went in a group of ten. The line was super long but my VIP status got me up to the front. Each maze is more terrifying then the next. “Total black out” in Lords of Salem maze is pretty creepy and I will have to let you experience that one yourself. The 3D realism of El Superbeasto will make you dizzy and confused from what is real and what is not! Haunt of 1,000 corpses was the scariest and it reeked of death and blood. No really it smelled awful and at times like chicken soup! If you like gore, and are a true fan of horror business you will love what the Great American Nightmare has in store for you! The visuals are crazy and extremely disturbing. I am excited for a bunch of the cool acts coming up like Vampires Everywhere, Andrew W.K., Rob Zombie and PowerMan 5,000. RNR will be bringing it to you live so stay tuned and check us out! For more information and to get tickets to GAN visit www.greatamericannightmare.com Tickets start at $30 and this includes access to all haunted house attractions, concerts and the Bloody Boulevard which has fun activities for you to enjoy. Hours for GAN are 6:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays, 6:30p.m. until 1:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturdays.

The FEARplex for Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare will include 150,000 square feet of horror and entertainment and is not geared towards young children or the faint of heart. Patrons should be prepared for maximum scares!

At Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare, patrons will sequentially enter three different attractions, each completely different in look, theme and effects:

Lords Of Salem In Total Black Out: This harrowing attraction–based on Zombie’s 2012 The Lords Of Salem independent horror film–is designed to twist the mind. It will accentuate some senses while limiting others. Fear of the dark, claustrophobia, and fear of the unknown will be preyed on as the visitor attempts to traverse this sixty-degree maze.

The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto 3D: Utilizing Chromadepth glasses, this innovative attraction will take the patron right into the middle of the irreverent world of Rob Zombie’s El Superbeasto 2009 animated exploitation musical horror comedy film based on the comic book series of the same name. The attraction’s unique surprise entrance, brilliant colors, sudden chills and startling thrills, and salacious humor will make one scream with fright and laughter.

Haunt Of 1,000 Corpses: This terrifying attraction pays homage to the 10-year anniversary of the exploitation horror film House Of 1,000 Corpses, directed by Rob Zombie. This extreme, traditional haunted house will take visitors on a walking journey through a recreation of the film’s “Museum of Monsters & Madmen” along with an expanded “Murder Ride,” confronting notorious serial killers along the way. This high impact, highly detailed attraction will use state of the art animatronics, video effects, costuming, sound, scents and lights.
